If you loved me, you would be here with me...

Make up your mind. I am currently listening to Call me When Your Sober. Listening to the lyrics in particular. Listening to how Amy Lee uses her voice to convey her feelings so strongly. Listening to how she uses the phrases, pauses and adds dynamics to dramatise the song. Listening to the backing vocals and how they harmonise so sweetly. Pauses are very effective in this song. Evanescence uses a lot of pauses for that dramatic effect, even in there older songs, like Taking Over Me.

What I like in a song. A list of what makes a song good in my view.

1- Lyrics: should be understandable. I find it interesting when the song tells a story. Should also match the melody and the style of the song.

2- Melody: should have thought put into it. Be inventive and not like every other song that band has made.

3- Style: the melody and lyrics should suit the style and I don't just mean what genre the band or song is, I mean the WAY the song is played. The dynamics, tempo and the instruments used. The things which the main audience don't pay much attention to. The things which the band puts a lot of effort in but aren't acknowledged for their hard work.

4- Skill: experience of a band and how well they play a song is extremely important. You may have a well constructed song, but the band might be shit-ass. It's no use if the song isn't played properly, and that doesn't involve remakes.

5- Genre: This matters to me because I don't particularly like country music, most 60's songs and some 70's songs and most popular music of today. I wouldn't like a song to be RnB or hip hop because the so called artists have no skill what so ever.

6- The Band: The band who plays a song is important because they add their part to the song in the WAY they play it. If a band uses all of these key elements, they will have another fan (me).

Bear in mind, these guidlines are the ones I created thinking of myself, and not anyone else's opinion.

Comment away about what you like in a song.

you no the music i really h8 is all that shit like 'smack that'. i mean hello talk about sexist its as if women are just items that are there for men to 'play with' and that we are of no real importance or that we have no feelings or emotions and that the only thing we should have is a good body, and that we should be able to cook and clean and take care of all the kids and stuff. its like thats all we should be doing. i believe that some men think of us as possesions rather than people with feelings and emotions. also with role models like christiana aguilera and there songs its like ur virginity is nothing of great relevance and who cares if u lose it 2 some random.

is it me or is there something rong with the image we are brought up on?

It is not just you. I also believe that those songs are sexist. We weren't put on this earth to please men while they have all of the fun. Screw that. I want a life. I don't want to be a slut who's sole purpose in life is to dance like a complete and utter whore in a rap video clip.

AND it's not just rap, hip hop and other film clips that promote a slutty image. Just look at Paris Hilton (complete skank and slut), she doesn't exactly scream sexual restraint. And Jenifer Lopez, Britney Spears... The list goes on with the main role models (which happen to be from America).

I say screw America's role models. We've got our own.

everything in America exists soley to sell it self and the quickest way to do that is to be a whore. as i have heard people(from America) quote many time before that sex sells.
